My Sabbatical

Well the three months passed quickly! Coming back into land with Sunday’s service I now have a growing agenda of things that need to be addressed and to be thought through.

Favourite conversation in Kenya

Conversations can sometimes have a strange feel to them in Kenya. Partly this is because they speak so many more languages than most of us do – Swahili, their tribal language and English. It is also sometimes because they want to please us and don’t want us to be disappointed.

Our final stop on the way to Nairobi and home was Lake Nakuru. This is the third time I’ve been and this time we persuaded Andrew to go early (normally we set off at 9 or 10 but the animals tend to start slowing down mid morning).

RUSH Academy sustainability

One of the key challenges that so many charities in Africa face is that of sustainability. RUSH like many others currently depend on help from the UK. So, one of the things that we have been trying to do is to encourage them to work on sources of income in Kenya. 

Getting down to business – RUSH style

We’ve been in Kakamega now for 10 days and only got one day left here before we head back to Nairobi via Lake Nakuru. It’s been a great reminder out here, as usual, that makes you realise how much we take for granted.
