Background Reading on Voyage of the Dawn Treader

It’s really exciting that Fox have given us permission to see an exclusive preview of the new Narnia film The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

As we wait for the film in just over a week’s time I thought that it might be useful and fun for some of you to be able to read some of the background stuff on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I have already done a post with the two main trailers for you to see. But there is loads more out on the net to give you some ideas.

CS Lewis had two stepsons from his marriage to Joy Davidson. Douglas and David Gresham. David went back to his Jewish roots but Douglas became a Christian and he is the main person looking after the CS Lewis estate and has been a large influence in all the Narnia films to date. He has recently done an interview about the film. There is an even longer and more detailed interview he did on the film here.

There is also a behind the scenes video of the making of the film

Our own Harvey Edser has written a great resource about the imagery and the themes of Voyage of the Dawn Treader on his blog.

And if you really want to go even deeper there is the Narnia web where you can go as deep as you like!

If you are connected to Springfield then we would love you to come with us to the viewing – information about how to do that is on our website.
