Videos of our welcome at the RUSH project

Visiting the RUSH Project in Kakamega, Kenya

We had the most wonderful welcome at the RUSH project on Tuesday (this is different from the RUSH Academy which is the school). The RUSH project is a separate centre which helps the widows and helps those learning a craft to make a living with. So they train tailors, carpenters and those in IT.

I thought you  might like to see some of their wonderful greeting.

Most of the party join in the dancing! If you don’t see me you must realise that someone had to film!

Then we had the most wonderful dancing from the seamstresses. Really great dancing:

Finally we were greeted by a large line of people giving gifts. These were really for Joan who did so much for Andrew last year when he was ill. At the front were 3 goats (soon named breakfast, lunch and dinner). These were followed by a cockerel. For the past two mornings it has been waking us up at 5am. Tonight we are having chicken for supper.

There is so much more to share. Having problems with the internet cafe and Andrew’s computer at the moment. Will try to sort out. Best wishes from all of us.

Hi Will – great films! Can you please let Jacqueline know I’ve been following all the blogs. My e-mails to her don’t seem to be getting through for some reason – so do please let her know that I have been e-mailing and am missing her! Thanks – and see you all soon. George

What a great welcome, hope you are not expecting the same when you get back although wouldn’t it just be fantastic if we could rise to that every Sunday. We did try and still do at roadrunners I just love it all.
Lovely to see it the experience must be awesome.
    God bless

The dancing’s amazing! Could you try & learn some of the moves please, & teach us at (say) the next All Age service?
I think the treatment of the cockerel was a bit unfair, but then I have a soft spot for cockerels, as they’re my fave footie team’s mascot!
So pleased to see Ben back in the fray too.
    God bless,
    Angela x
