Bishop of Southwark competition!

It was great to have Bishop Christopher, the Bishop of Southwark visit Springfield last Sunday. It was an encouragement for us (especially as he made it plain that he wanted to come) and I do believe that he is a “good thing” for the diocese. He was very encouraging about Springfield as a church and supportive of our way of doing things. He very much wanted to experience a “vanilla” service with us and to get a feel for what we are about.

Bishop Christopher very much seems to realise that changes are needed in Southwark (which doesn’t mean that he wants every church to become like Springfield!!) and is very much putting mission at the centre of the picture (and I hope that focus remains) as well as  looking at significant changes to the way that Southwark operates.

Now we are heading for AGM time and there were a few fun pictures that Tim Samuel took of the occasion. And the AGM means slideshow! And the slideshow means silly captions! Soooo, the best caption of any of the following photos gets used at the AGM!  You can have multiple entries and my ruling is final (you just need to make me laugh)!! The only thing is that it needs to be publishable in front of children!!

For more pictures of the morning you can see them on our Flickr account here.
