Off to Kenya…. Say a prayer…

Well, the packing is nearly all done. Soon our little party of eight will be setting off for Heathrow for an overnight flight to Nairobi, Kenya.

This is my second trip out there (and Joan’s umpteenth since she has been a trustee for about 10 years). For those who are making their first trip out there is bound to be a culture shock staying with Andrew and Lucy. I remember last year about the second day staying with them we needed a bit of space together to deal with the culture shock. So, do please pray for us and pray for those who haven’t been before that they will acclimatise.

We arrive in Kenya about 9am tomorrow morning (6am UK time as there is a 3 hour difference). We then drive up to Lake Nakuru where we are staying until Monday (we go on a one day Safari on Sunday). Then its off to Kakamega for a week where we hope to do a number of things. There is some work to do with child sponsorship (interviewing, photographing and writing up cases to help with people’s choosing someone to sponsor), some medical work (Cecile and Ian would like to work in this areas especially), the widow’s programme and potentially building a house. It should be a great week and we are all excited about going and we hope to keep you regularly updated with all that is going on out there (Andrew should be getting me a dongle for the laptop to allow for easier access!).

One other piece of good news is that Springfield PCC has agreed to pay for the building of a new classroom for the new secondary school. This should then allow the secondary school to open!

    Hi Will,
Thanks for your posting. I hope you guys get a flight OK despite the snow overnight, & that you have a fantastic time in Kenya. Please give my love to Andrew & Lucy.
Well done to our PCC too, for agreeing to pay for a classroom.
Look forward to hearing more about your adventures in the next week or so. God bless,
    Angela x

Keep safe. We will be thinking and praying for you while you’re away and look forward to your return
Of course those of us left in England are not jealous that the temperature there is 30°
