Limbering up for the great London Monopoly journey

Monopoly Board for London

Well the day is nearly here. I have just finished planning the route. On Saturday, Becky and I are off to visit every place on the London Monopoly board in aid of raising money for the trip to Kenya (going at the end of next week). We’re doing it a week later than planned due to a diocesan all day meeting last Saturday!

I have tried to find the easiest route for us to take but it is likely to be an all day affair. Our first place will be the Old Kent Road and then northwards to the Tower of London (for our jail), Fenchurch St and onwards….. I must admit that we aren’t doing the masochistic route of walking it! We will be allowed buses and tubes where appropriate. Some sections look relatively easily. For example, Picaddily->Coventry St->Leicester Sq->Trafalgar Square->Pall Mall->Whitehall->Northumberland Ave->Strand->Charing Cross Station section should be doable quite quickly. But there are some sections that look quite a palava (especially some of the outlying areas).

Still, it is a great challenge and I am so proud of Becky being prepared to raise all the money herself for going to Kenya (and if you are one of her sponsors then hats off to you as well).

The trip is getting ever closer and still so much to do! Still it should be great fun and will be a great experience for Becky (and me, although I’ve been before!)

Still, here’s to making it round in one piece and being fit for Sunday!

Where are you going for the electric company?
Tate Modern used to be a power station.

Had thought of the Tate Modern – its also not too far from London Bridge where we are starting.
