A star is born…..

Graham says hello to Bill

One of our great friends, Graham, came on holiday with us for our first two weeks of holiday in Italy. He and his wife, Maggie, have been friends since we lived in Cambridge when I was training for ordination at Ridley. Indeed, they were our next door neighbours in Milton where we lived.

Maggie and Graham have always been great fun and part of the family.

Well I’ve just watched Page eight on BBC iplayer – starring Bill Nighy, Rachel Weisz and Ralph Fiennes. It was a fun film to watch but made even more fun by the fact that Graham was in it! He even had a line with Bill Nighy – gasps of excitement in the family! So definitely, a star is born!!

Graham now a major movie star moves on!

Graham did say that Bill Nighy was a delightful person and very chatty and approachable. The short time on the film belies the hours spent in filming! So, when they are setting up the shots they end up chatting away.

Graham had a great time being on the movie and I must say that we enjoyed watching!

For anyone interested in starts at about 59 minutes into the film when Bill goes to Cambridge.

I watched the film and enjoyed it – obviously I didn’t know Graham or that he was your friends. However I remember the scene quite clearly, when Bill ( Johnny) turns to notice him the first time he does a classic Bill Nighy turn and sort of double take – one of his signature characteristics, I remember smiling at it.
(want to watch it again now just to see your friend!)

I thought that Bill was in one of his better roles in this film. Of course it helps if you have a friend in it! I did want to put up a photo of Graham with my daughters hanging off his arm (brilliantly sleezy looking) but they don’t really like me posting stuff of them on here!

I can’t believe that your four little(?) angels would ever look sleazy…
