The History of English in ten minutes….

The Open University has come up with ten one minute videos of a history of English. Great fun. The two I particularly liked were the making of the King James Bible and Shakespeare.

The English language has a rich history and these clips are done in a fun (and short) way. Of course, the King James Bible and Shakespeare were huge influences on the English language – well worth remembering in this the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.

    Rosie,
Thanks for the link to the article. I thought that the Open University ones were good in showing how our language has been transformed so much in the past 1,500 years or so and also how it has gone in waves.
