More pictures of the Safari

Well now I am back with a faster internet its possible to share more of the pictures from the trip. Hope to get the transfer device from Andrew and Lucy in the next day or so in order to upload video (and be able to return it to Nigel – oops!)

These pictures are taken from Lake Nakuru, Kenya one of the Safari parks there. This one is one of the smaller ones but does still have some amazing wildlife. Last time I just put up a few of them. This time I have put up a 130 of them.

Thanks for all the photos. I only went into the Nairobi National Park and never had anything like the variety or close views that you had.
Ironically I stopped in the Naukauru car park at 4pm one afternoon and when I saw it was £50 almost to go in we decided not to proceed!!

Perhaps the next time I go…..

Hope you get a chance to return.

    Blessings

Yes, not sure that I would have paid £50 just for a bit of time in the evening. We started off at about 10am until 4pm. If I had the privilege to do it again I would start earlier (6am??) to get the morning movement and feeding. Would still want to spend the whole day there but that would have been good to do – and maybe see one of the big cats as well.

What did feel strange coming home though was when we got on the Kenya airways flight from Kisumu the in flight magazine had a heavy emphasis on luxurious safaris and comfort which jarred a bit for me (but then it is a money maker for Kenya) and it was obvious that quite a few people on the plane from Nairobi to the UK (though certainly not all) had spent 1/2 term on safari. Just felt odd. Some working with the poor and some on safari for some days. Not wrong – just odd.

So that would be the painting would it? The safari was the week before half term!
