I have just started blogging occasional articles for the Church Growth Research and Development website.
My first article on the way that overlapping ministries can help churches to grow has just been published: http://www.churchgrowthrd.org.uk/blog/churchgrowth/overlapping_ministries
The Church Growth R&D is a relatively new initiative to look at how the church of England can foster growth. As they say on their website
The Church Growth Research Programme is an 18 month research project exploring some of the factors that might explain church growth in the Church of England. The site includes examples of growing churches, existing literature on church growth and a discussion forum for users to share their experiences and opinions on church growth.
Well worth a general look at for ideas
I’m off to hear Rowan Williams at the Fresh Expressions conference. I do hope to write more about the women bishops and the theology of it.
In the meantime Ian Paul has written an excellent article:
Fresh Expressions have just published an article I wrote (last night!) for them about the visit of ++Rowan to Springfield and the difference I believe that has made for us as a church. I’m in the process of writing a longer article about his visit to go up in the next day or two reflecting on his visit (in between everything else!).
There is an article in the Sutton Guardian about the visit of Rowan last Sunday to Springfield. I have also been sent a few wonderful photos from some of the photo agencies and will try and get them up later today.
Article on Archbishop of Canterbury’s website
Article now up talking about Springfield on the Archbishop’s website with a transcript and link to the video.
You might be interested in what ++Rowan said about his move to Cambridge. Isabella had a very brief interview with him just before yesterday’s service: http://bit.ly/FPAci0
It was great to have Bishop Christopher, the Bishop of Southwark visit Springfield last Sunday. (more…)
I was interviewed a couple of weeks ago over the telephone by Fresh Expressions about what we get up to at Springfield. They have now published the interview on their website. (more…)
Well Downton Abbey has come to the end of another series. The plot lines have become crazier, but the costumes and the house have kept a beauty to them. What to watch now?
Maybe instead read the latest article written by my daughter, Isabella, for Varsity magazine about “A Very British Obsession” which looks at our continuing fascination with the period drama setting.
